Nothing Gold Can Stay (Zoe). 2013 Size: 18 x 16 in Medium: Oil on canvas panel The title is based on the poem by Robert Frost Nothing Gold Can Stay BY ROBERT FROST Nature’s first green is gold, Her hardest hue to hold. Her early leaf’s a flower; But only so an hour. Then leaf subsides to leaf. So Eden sank to grief, So dawn goes down to day. Nothing gold can stay. The poem’s meaning sets out the ‘green’ of youth is fleeting and nothing that is perfect lasts. I’ve used this title a few times ( 2012 was the first). With this portrait I want to tackle fur and subtle turning within chiaroscuro lighting. Note the gold necklace in the left hand. Sold through the Albemarle Gallery #albemarlegallery#rvpgallery#cattogallery#artist#art#painting#oilpainting#contemporaryart#contemporaryrealism #contemporarypainting#painter #Fineart #artgallery#artstudio#modernart#figurativeart#artconsultant#interiordesign#artcollectors
